Highly recommend Bunny Cummings. Great for 2nd time mums who are wanting a different experience to last time - I had a nasty 1st birth with a different MW. Bunny's just been fab - really supportive of what I want, pro natural birth. She is happy for HBs too I think.
Another option is Green Bay MWs - many of their MWs are very very pro HB.

I loved mine - Gail Kiss, I had a great waterbirth at Waitakere, and she also does home births. Couldn't fault her care at all. And she has had 7 babies her self!
PM me if you want her number.

Depends on where out west you are? My MW is Angela Scott based at Baby on the Way opposite the Hospital. I'm going to be living in Hobsonville and Green Bay MWs wouldn't take me on due to location.

I am with Debbie Ross. She is lovely and I've heard good things about her. She was with west auck midwives with Bunny and Lolly. But not anymore. Does anyone know why they split???

Also recommend Lolly Freeman, she delivered my baby a few months ago and was awesome! Not sure if this will be a deciding factor for you, but she made our Plunket book all nice and pretty with stickers when she filled it out, it'll be more of a keepsake than my own half filled out Plunket book from 20+ years ago. :)

That's good to hear about Lolly. She's Bunny's back up and Bunny is off when I'm 6-9 days overdue (I'm predicting bubs to be born on day 10 overdue so should be OK!), but like the sound of Lolly if I need her
