My mum is wondering what to buy DS for Xmas and I don't know what to tell her! He's just had his birthday so he's got a musical train that moves balls around, a ball popper thing that you push when you walk, a sandpit, water play stuff, swing-slide set and a ride-on. Not to mention a few other basics like the fire engine, truck and blocks and balls, shape sorter etc. He uses his exersaucer still (and it kind of does for an activity table).

He's at this strange stage at the moment where he doesn't seem to be excited about anything in particular except exploring and getting into things he's not allowed!

If anyone has some great ideas, I'd love to hear them!

Get toys for 18mth plus? So for his next development stage then he can use them right from the get go.

Totally agree books! DD brings them to me to read to her. And puzzles although he wont be able to use them now and he will find them hard to begin with when he can they are good for their fine motorskills and problem solving. We have one puzzle and DD still can't do it. But she's getting there in her own time.

I think puzzles would be good too, but books would be very Grandma!
