    Posted: 28 October 2009 at 9:49am
Hi there

I am around 6 weeks pregnant and have been spotting/bleeding for the last 3 days without any pain. My hcg levels haven't risen as fast as my doctor wanted (went from 380 to 2000 in 8 days) but isn't too concerned and I am having a another blood test tomorrow. Has anyone else done this and gone on to have a normal pregnancy? I try not to be concerned and I'm preparing myself for the worst ...... but guess its nice to hear other people's experiences.

Thanks

Hugs hun.. My HCGs this pgcy were:
HCG @ 4W2D = 80
HCG @ 4W4D = 216 (Doubled every 1.4D)
HCG @ 5W2D = 2351 (Doubled every 1.4D)
HCG @ 5W4D = 4948 (Doubled every 1.9D)
HCG @ 6W1D = 15671 (Doubled every 2.4D)
HCG @ 7W0D = 43746 (Doubled every 4.1D)
HCG @ 7W2D = 49325 (Doubled every 11.5D)

I know that my HCG levels were about the middle of the range. Yours are doubling every 3.3 days, which is not that slow.
Check out this site, which says at 6 weeks your HCG should be between 1080 and 56500.. And your with in that range.
This site has a calculator and says that HCG levels between 1200 and 6000 should double between 72 and 96 hours... and your well within that range too..
So I would say dont worry Or ask for a US and see if you can see the HB (They saw mine at 5w6d their dates.. (Or 6w4d my dates))
GL hun!

Whilst it is not "normal" it seems quite common. I put up a similar post at 6 weeks and I've responded to about 6 since then. I bled intermittently from 6 weeks through to 15 weeks. I mean fresh red blood that was enough to wear a pad for. Had lots of scans and everything was okay each time. Cramps and clots apparently are the bad signs. But it sounds like HCG levels are still rising nicely - if you've miscarried then I think they flatten out very quickly.

Good luck. Hope everything is going fine in there and the little tike is just giving you a scare.

Thanks girls, was good to read your posts. Spotting seems to have died off today so hopefully I get a good hcg test back tomorrow. Can only but hope! Whatever is meant to be will be I guess

My fingers are crossed for you mrshopeful. During my first pregnancy with DD I had exactly the same thing as what Sasha described. I spent the first 4 months wearing pads! I even had small clots - but lots of blood tests, scans, hospital visits etc etc later everything was fine.

mrshopeful my fingers are crossed for you also! I had bleeding around 8 weeks and again around 16 weeks but all was fine when I went for scans. I previously miscarried and had terrible cramping with the bleeding so I knew something was up.

My levels are rising! Slowly but surely as per my doctors mesage left on my phone last night. Not sure what they went up to but she said everything looked fine. Still spotting a wee bit, more in the morning and then its pretty much gone by night. And its still brown in colour so I guess thats just how its gonna be for me! Still feel like I'm not out of the woods......but at least I got a positive result

Hi Mrshopeful - a good friend of mine bleed for 5 days every second week until she reached week 25. She went for a scan every second week to check on things but now has a beautiful little 9 month old daughter.

I've heard many stories of bleeding throughout pregnancy that have resulted in healthy babies
