Emmi which LC did you see? Have you spoken to Penny or Sandy? They were both so helpful and Sandy does home visits too Also, I'm so suprised LLL couldn't help you....I nearly rang you yesterday actually to see if you wanted to come to a meeting with me too lol  I've found them awesome and not at all the BF nazis I was told they'd be lol

You're doing a good job and well done for sticking at it. You *will* find a solution..it's just finding it that's frustrating!

Babies are all so different....BF doesn't need to drop off once solids are introduced, but they might too IYKWIM? Also, with all due respect, I think you're buying into the story we're told that having mastitis affects our supply and also that Lilla 'has' to feed a certain style/way/length of time etc to be satisfied. IMO giving her a bottle as a top up may well be hindering. I'm absolutely not an expert at all tho...just using my experience to date of having lots of issues as well, not entirely dissimiliar from yours in some ways!

Do you think Lilla just may be keen to BF little and very often at this stage? It doesn't mean she's not getting enough if she doesn't linger for ages. Is she gaining weight ok?

Aaawww I just wanna give you both a big hug and say hang in there. I absolutely have faith you guys will sort it out and come to a solution that suits you both down to the ground.

Nic- lol at you trying the sitting upright position with Lily! SO cute! Clodagh LOVES it and even does the 'milk' sign to her Nana and my friends if she's sitting on them that way....God loves a trier!!

The issue isnt often or for short amounts of time, its the fact that she is on there for 4 or 5 seconds, like litterally 2 sucks and then pulls off, so way before shes actaully getting anything. I need to take a video (I almost did last night!) so you can see what I mean, its almost like shes playing, but she gets distressed (frustrated?) and then really wont go anywhere near my boob.

Anyway, I will keep doing what Im doing with the feeds, I was (originally) just wanting to know what feeds were like after solids were introduced so that I had a goal in my head of when it might be "easier" and less pressure on me to feed her, I will stick with my short term goal being 6 months, although hopefully by then things will be easier anyway! Thanks to everyone whos posted

A video is not a bad idea hun! And I second that you are a star for persisting despite all the hiccups.

If it makes you feel better, DD definitely feeds less these days and probably has for a month or so. I ended up starting her on solids at 5.5 months, and she's eaten heaps from the very start, so I guess 2 months after solids? We do BLW and demand BF.

And I second Emmecat's LLL suggestion. They are nice ladies, really!

lmao she initiated it the first time as she was sitting on my knees facing me and she kept grabbing my top (which she often does, tries to pull it up) she seems to like it.

LLL could be a way to go or (I'm not sure of her name) but remember at the big latch on that woman who was doing all the talking (not sure of her name) she was the one who helped me when Lily had a couple of problems, you just have to mention something and she has possible solutions. Sorry I don't know her name though...

Def take a video though as someone is bound to have a solution.

Also if you don't end up making it to 6 months, please don't feel bad. You are doing so well and have done so well! I was amazed to hear you are expressing feeds for her atm! You're a star!

I have talked to a LLL on the phone, and was already doing everything she suggested to help, and Penny is the lady your thinking of Nic, shes the hospitals LC so I dont think she does private consults.

I really really dont want to jinx it (if I write it its not saying it out loud is it??!) but DD fed properly ALL yesterday Only pulled off once or twice during 2 of her evening feeds, so I am hoping like heck that this is the way it will be for ever and ever (shes now never allowed to wean!) but yeah, fxed this is it. Oh and I wasnt doing anything different, she just latched and sucked for 10 mins and then did it again a couple of hours later!
