I haven't had a look at the link but crushed eggshells to hurt the little bastards and dishes of beer to drown them have always worked in my war against slimy things
If you don't mind going out with a torch each night for a week - then grab some cheap salt and just pour it on each slug - they just dissolve and a small amount of salt shouldn't damage the soil. (Hmm may be a bit tricky if they are those little slugs, I've only had to deal with yucky leopard slugs - ewww).
Thanks for the suggestions people. However I weas at the garden centre today and found a slug bait that is safe around kids and pets! Now to see if it kills slugs...

Oh can you please let me know the name of it? The little buggers are driving me crazy!
Is it non-poisonous to kids and pets, or just repellant? My poor sister bought some pet-repellant slug bait and her dog ate the entire box on the weekend and died :(
I think it's called Quash. I would check, but it's in the garden shed and it's raining! From memory it says it is safe for kids and pets - but I'll still keep it out of gthey way Your poor sister
