I think there's something in the rules and guild lines about not directing people to another site to chat. But it's a cool idea. Perhaps instead of directing people somewhere else you could start a thread in OB for Step parents ;) I think if you email admin they are doing private groups for people now.
I don't think it even needs to be a private group. There's a lot of step-parents around and i think a section in the 'Support' area for us would be a good idea. Admin??
