Topic: 8GB iPod Touch, 2nd gen -yay or nay Posted: 21 January 2011 at 7:39pm |
I have won a competition and can choose my prize, one of the options is an 8GB iPod Touch, second generation, but because it's not the latest and greatest model, and it's *only* 8GB, I am unsure... wanna convince me either way??

What other prizes are there??
It would be good if your planning on using it. I just looked on TM, worth around $200 new. So thats not bad
If its just for music 8gb is heaps, if not then i guess 8gb isnt much

I currently have a 8GB 'normal' mini ipod, and I find it's only just big enough for my music.
I am thinking of getting a touch, but I want a 16gb one (if there is one).
I think by the time I have put apps on it etc, there might not be that much room for music.
but it depends what the other prizes are.

I have an 8gb nano which is fine for my music because i tend to make playlists and load them instead of just my bulk collection....i would say for a touch not enough because you'd use space with all the apps etc.
Depends on the other prizes, if none are that exciting and the ipod doesnt work out for you then you can always TM it, i guess...

I have an 8gb and find it fine, but I don't have that many apps or any videos. I also tend to make mixes of my current faves on my computer and then put them on the iPod, so have heaps of room.
What are the other options? Yay for winning a prize!

Thanks for your input girls! The other options are a mint Kathmandu sleeping bag, or a Flip video recorder. We alreday have two sleeping bags we hardly ever use (though neither are as good as this one), and we already have a Flip...
The sleeping bag was the first prize, but it also comes with $500 to go towards the community project I suggested (which gave me an entry to the competition). So I have to decide whether to go ahead with the project or not, if I don't I can pass it on and choose any of the prizes... the iPod Touch is the only thing that really interests me, but even then I'm not 100% sure on it! Could always sell it like SMS suggested and buy something else nice

Sarah i LOVE my itouch - it too is an i8gb one. Wifi is awesome, video capacity great, cool games. I have 200 songs for kids on there and Amelie wanders round the house with it dancing and singing. (has a plastic durable cover for toddler slober) Just my 2 cents worth - but I LOVE it!

I had an 8GB, it was perfect Apps don't tend to take a lot of space, I made playlists as well, and I also had over 500 books on there, I found it perfectly sufficient.
