I was out with work yesterday with another staff member and 4 service users (2 of which are in wheelchairs).

we went to the warehouse and while we were in there one of my wheelchair ladies had a seizure (totally normal for her) but she had a Bad one lasting 13min so we had to give her some special medications...
but this random lady and man stopped grabbed some towels off the shelf and stood at the end of the aisles and blocked it off while we could do our thing with the medication.
WITHOUT us even asking. they then checked we were ok and didn't need an ambulance and left us in peace after her seizure stopped.

Totally amazing. everyone else in the warehouse just stood at the end of the aisle and watched/oogled and did nothing to help or ask if we were ok

That is so nice of her, it's nice to know that there are people out there that still care about total strangers!!

I must say that I have helped with other peoples groceries and other things because I think it comes back around and if we all did something nice for someone the world would be alot better off!!

LIKE!!!!!!!! Trying to teach my sons that but my teenager is all about him and if it will benefit him etc.......actually that sounds like a lot of men......

I think if we gave a compliment a day to someone that we havent complimented before and help a random stranger every day our children will see what we do and hopefully learn by example

Great thread!

I was waiting for the bus one day and a guy came up to me. I avoided eye contact as I wasn't sure what he wanted and he didn't look that nice. He walked up to me and handed me his day tripper bus ticket and told me to use that as he didn't need it anymore that day. Only saved me about $2 or $3 but it reminded me to not judge on people's appearances.

LC I agree with you that what goes around, comes around. DP and i were out having brunch morning and I paid with cash and got $10 too much change. I went back on the way out of the cafe and gave it back and they were surprised and thanked me for my honesty!

Went outside before and there was a lady sitting under a tree getting some shade from cycling in the hot weather. I asked her to come inside to get some cold water as it's pretty hot out there. Anyway got chatting, and she's from Germany, biking around NZ alone! She was planning on cycling from Te Aroha to Rotorua today but didn't think she would make it to Rotorua. My friend turns up as he was heading home and we sat round with a coffee and home baked cookies which she totally loved.

He said he would take her to the top of the Mamakus so she could get to Rotorua before end of day and most of it would be downhill. So she's got her fresh water, I gave her some cookies to nibble on along the way and away she goes.

Such a great feeling helping someone out!

mum2alana that was so nice of you.

I was at the dairy one morning on way to school with 3 kids in the car & got a flat tyre, after having an inward meltdown this big guy with heavy tats mean as looking comes over & changes it for me, so I agree with not judging people on there appearance.

I however was in the supermarket the other day & while standing at the checkout an old man 80+ I reckon came up walking very slowly pushing a walker with his fruit & veg in the bottom basket so I offered to put them on the belt for him..he said yes so I started getting it for him & then he said yes i'll do it myself so I had to put it all back, lol, then the checkout lady says he does it all the time & when they offer to help he wont let them & it takes ages to serve him...sometimes you just can not do anything nice for some

I've had a couple of things recently, first one I went for a walk with DS in the pram to the pool (12km return trip), on the way back my camera fell out of the basket of the pram and I didn't realise for a few days that it was lost. Posted an ad on gumtree (classified website) saying that I lost it and a school girl contacted me to say she had found it! She was rewarded with a box of choccies.

And I went for a walk near home around xmas time and I found a bus pass on the side of the road, contacted the bus company who got in touch with the card owner and when she came to collect it she brought me a little box of choccies. It's really awesome when good deeds are rewarded with chocolate!! (but that's not the reason for doing it)
