I wash in cold water and don't have any problems.

We don't have hot water either, every now and then I use a bucket to fill up the machine but that takes AGES! So I've probably done it twice in the last 6mos. Just make sure to do a double rinse.

We do a cold wash and single rinse, I just chuck a bit of Dettol Fresh in the rinse cycle. But I do use liners and I soak my nappies as well so I'm not really a good example to follow

I do a cold wash and single rinse as well. I don't soak my nappies, I don't use tons of washing powder and usually throw in a little bit of vinegar as well. I don't have any build up or anything like that. Once every 6 weeks I'll do a hot wash (bucketing the water in like busymum does)

I use a warm wash but have used a cold wash and it seems to be ok. Like Emma I use liners so not too much poo gets on the nappie itself.

I am sure a cold wash is fine. and maybe once a month do what teresa (busymum) said and fill with some hot water to get rid of any build up in machine
