Isn't it funny how you get contradicting advice all throughout pregnancy? I'm trying to compose a list of them for fun. Here's what I can think of so far.

a) To give your baby a good head-start, make sure you have well-balanced, nutritious meals, not too much fats/sugar/salt
b) If having leg cramps, add more salt to your diet

a) To turn a posterior baby into the correct position for birth, sit leaning forward with your knees equal to or lower than your hips
b) To combat blood pressure difficulties, sit with your legs elevated to waist height or higher

No wonder we get confused with all the do/don't lists!!

I have been told to cut down on chocolate as it contains caffeine so isn't great for baby- then read in an article that eating chocolate in the 3rd trimester makes for "happy" babies.

What really annoyed me was when I was bleeding my Dr said that I should rest up, nothing too strenuous and try to lie down as much as possible- then the A&E Dr said that if I was going to lose it nothing I could do would change that and it was fine to keep going to the gym etc.

My midwife has said its fine to eat mould ripened cheeses as long as they've been pasturised but I have read/heard from so many other sources that they still aren't ok to eat because of the process they go through to ripen.

Ahh another joy of pregnancy
