4months big growth spurt??

It seems to be the norm from listening to others, but just wanted to double check............is there a big growth spurt bang on 4months?

My lil man was 4 months yesterday and hes gone from sleeping through til 7am, to getting up twice to be fed and its not a little feed, hes really going hard taking big long controlled sucks to fill up his tummy...........and that doesnt stop during the day also............

So how long can i expect this to last??

I can now kinda see why some people rush out to give solids or formual at 4months cos they think their babies arent getting enough from their milk cos of how hungry they are, but i know i have good milk and Im confident hes getting enough from me and just requiring more cos of a growth spurt, but just need some reassurance.

Really tiring though and my nipples are getting sore again from soooo much feeding. Ive gotta go out tomorrow and i dont think im gonna be able to express any cos hes always emptying me and ive only got 90mls frozen.........arrghhhh

If Jesse was screaming cos my body couldnt keep up then i would prob do the same Renee.

Im gonna have to leave a sachet of formula out just in case tomorrow, but DH will be under strict instructions only to use if A: im still to far away from home when he starts wanting food, and B: and nothing else ties him over (ie sleep or a rusk. i hate the thought of my baby being hungry more than him having to have something other than breastmilk.
My friend said we wil only be a couple of hours but she loses all concept of time and her 2 quickly turns into 4 esp when shes managed to get time away from the kids.

Jesse only just started sleeping through the night too Renee and now this..........hopefully he goes back to sleeping through again soon...........esp since im up with insomnia and ecezma on top of his feeds

oh and plunket said its not neccesarily a sign they need solids - they just want more milk!

same thing here! another hungry boy! But as we get closer to 5 months it is slowly down. I think it is a combo of a growth spurt and not feeding that well during the day, looking around and being too interested in what's going on. Whereas at night it's dark, mothings happening so he feeds.!
hang in there, it does get better!

Jamie is not even on the chart for height he is that tall and is on the 97th percentile for weight, so not sure how much bigger he is going to get!    The plunket nurse said all that milk had to go all the way to the end of his toes and it's a long way so no wonder he is a hungry boy!      We got 9PM-midnight and then from 3AM onwards was just continual screaming in hunger. I was feeding him almost constantly and he wasn't really getting anything out of me.    I would go the formula route as a top up if I thought he could keep it down, but he won't have a bar of anything but me.
