When do babys engage? I am 39 1/2 weeks and my baby still hasnt engaged is this normal? I thought that they should be engaged by now. What happens when labour starts to they give you a c section if bubs is still floating?
Sorry about all the questions just a little bit concerned.

Hi
I'm not an expert by any means but I think that sometimes babies heads don't engage until you go into labour. My friends baby wasn't engaged at your stage either and she ended up having her baby about 10 days past her due date. Her labour was fine and she didn't have to have a C Section.
Am sure it is nothing to worry about at this stage.

Maya didn't engage until I was in labour, it's relatively common.

Maddie only ever got to D1 and was still there at 41 weeks! She never fully engaged until labour. I believe that while many first babies do engage by 40 weeks it is also pretty common for them not to.

Babies can engage any time in the last few weeks or wait for labour. It can be a little concerning but I'm sure you're m/w will be able to talk you through whatever needs to happen once you do have the baby. Hopefully Baby does engage early for you - a load off your mind - but whatever the case, all the best for a really good birth pretty soon I guess!
