I'm a "skinny mum" well, not at the moment but I have little fat on me, a high metabolism, and when I'm preg or b/fing I need to eat eat eat all the time so that I actually get some, not just Baby. Anyone else out there in the same boat? I'm hoping to share tips/ideas/etc.

Oh yay! Ever get those days when you sorta can't be bothered eating for two 'cause you don't feel that hungry anyway (but know it will affect your energy) That's what I've been like today. I think I'm off my appetite with a cold though... blah blah

What do you do to help you eat enough in a day?

I have really hungry days when I just feel like eating constantly and then others where I just don't really feel like eating anything much.
I'm probably not the best person to ask about it, I think I have dreadful eating habits!
On the days when I'm not so hungry I tend to pick at food throughout the day but I do try to make it things like fruit or dried fruit so there is goodness in it for bubs.
My mum got me on to cheese and crackers with pickle or relish 'cos I couldn't be bothered making sandwiches for myself sometimes.
I also got given a tin of sustagen which I have if I don't feel like I'm eating enough for both me and bubs.
Does any of this help? Do you have any tips for me?
I find it so frustrating sometimes, my in laws keep commenting on my weight since I had Benjy as, aside from the flabby tummy its all dropped off.
They say things like 'You are eating aren't you?' and 'You need to stop worrying about your weight, Benjy needs   you to eat well so he gets good quality milk'
Grrr! do people do that to you?

Yea I did used to get those comments (when b/fing that is), especially after my first child - with her I lost all of my preggy weight AND another 5kg within 11mos (so under the 50kg mark and I'm 5'6"!!), I started having macaroni cheese or similar every lunchtime and still couldn't control the loss... and then I got pregnant with #2 lol.

What is saustagen? Never heard of it.

I've just started getting into yoghurt, something in there has really helped my energy levels, I guess it's a nice easy snack too.

When I was b/fing Briona in the early days I would make up a whole batch of cheese and pineapple so that every time I felt a little peckish, there was something really good in there for me to eat. Vit C & Calcium & Protein, gotta be good!

My uncle is my main question-er. It probably doesn't help that he has a daughter who has twice got preggy the same time as me and puts on weight very easily. Are you eating well? What do you do for exercise? etc etc. My SIL commented that maybe he is asking with friendly concern since my mum, his SIL, (who doesn't have good metabolism) is obese. Tangled web, ay?

I think I found out why no appetite the other day. Seems our family (via Hannah and her best friend) has caught a cold... which in the girls' case has led to ear infections. I must have just been coming down with it the other day when I didn't feel like eating.

Appetite's back... I must say I've really been enjoying spaghetti and eggs on toast for lunch lately... about every second day that is.
