Topic: So stressed Posted: 18 December 2009 at 7:48am |
So Cory has been moved to neocate...
Started mixing half neocate with half soy last Sunday.
Tuesday afternoon because he wasnt complaining about the taste or anything, we moved him to full neocate.
he had about 4 bottles of full neocate (120mls per bottle)
Wednesday morning he threw up the entire bottle, and we had a bottle strike until 2pm..where he drank 60mls, threw up the bottle at 6pm, but drank 60mls at 8.30pm and kept it down, and drank 60mls at 4am thursday morning.
I only got about 300mls into him yesterday...hes had like 3 little poohy nappies and he kept the bottles down.
He is hungry he scoffed back 120mls this morning, but lost half the bottle...he is grizzly and clingy especially when we leave the room.
I know he is struggling to go #2s (after 6.5mths of changing runny nappies), his poor system must be in shock.
He is not wanting much food either.
He is otherwise happy, playing and smiling (when not being grizzly and clingy), and sleep normally.
Arrgghhhhh i just wish i knew what was going on with him...i dont know if he has a mild bug, or teething or is just on a food strike
I have rung health line but was told because he is drinking something and is having small wet nappies then to just keep an eye on him,
Sorry for the vent.

Aw that sucks, maybe you could give him a tiny bit of prune juice (was gonna suggest kiwi juice but then thought with allergies around it might not be the best idea). Mine have always gone off milk when a bit bunged up. Hopefully his tummy will come right, I think it can take up to 2 weeks for their systems to adjust when food is changed around.
Neocate can tend to make them quite spilly, Spencer was always really spilly on it up until about 7 months when suddenly almost overnight he stopped spilling. He was spilly before the neocate as well though, but it upset him a lot whereas the neocate spills he was a happy chucker with.
Fingers crossed he is feeling better soon

Cory had stopped spilling about a month before we put him on neocate...but hes not spilling hes powerchucking...
but he is a bit glassy eyed, so hes probably a bit under the weather.
i just hate not knowing whats wrong and i just want him to go for a pooh

Hi, When our DD is a bit blocked up I give her weleda colic powder in water and it works almost instantly, or a a teaspoon of brown sugar in water, or prune juice
Hope everything works out soon
