Unfortunately I can't share too many details at this stage as the member concerned has asked that it not be made public, but there are a good few of you out there who know who and what I am talking about. If you don't -don't worry, just disregard this message completely!
If you do know who and what I am talking about, some of us have been PMing/FBing/texting etc. wanting to help out in some way. Lizzle has offered to co-ordinate a care package as she is close enough to drop it off once it is all organised. If anyone would like to contribute, please let her know and she can give you the neccessary details.
Some things that we thought might be useful are petrol vouchers (they will get a hospital allowance for travel, but if we can help out with vouchers, they can then use that allowance to cover other expenses), grocery vouchers (which may either go direct to them, or to some of the other OB Palmy mums who have offered to cook meals, bake etc. for them), little bits and pieces for the girls - maybe crayons, coloring books etc. to keep them entertained as there is quite a lot of waiting around involved, and messages of support and encouragement for mum and dad.
I realise that things are tough for everybody at the moment, and this is by no means asking people to commit to helping out, but it's just the easiest way to communicate en masse with those of you who have already expressed a desire to help out. The person concerned is a long time member whom a lot of you have met in person, or communicated with over the past few years. And if you're not in a position to help out with the care package, I'm sure prayers and kind thoughts are gratefully received!
