Hi for the past couple of weeks bubs has been grumpy (at times) will be sitting quite happy than burst into tears/tantrum! She is fussy with eating - last week we started on the 6 month formula but was acting up with eating before this. She goes to bed at night and within a hour (most times) is crying again and during the night I am getting up 1-2 times, on the odd occassion more (this has been going on for a month), she is about to go into her own room but I am hesitant to do this while she is waking and being fussy with eating. I am back to feeding her at least once during the night as I find it the easier way to get her settled again. I have been back at work for almost a month and bubs is in daycare I am just about exhausted with interupted sleep every night (we have no family here to help out). Hubby never wakes during the night so its always me (which I don't mind really). This week she has really taken to solids and is having some days 3 lots after her bottle. No teeth but rosy cheeks. Does any one have any tips (especially with the nighttime), thanks!

Sorry hannibal, its so hard to remember back to when my older kids where that age. I went back to work when DS2 was 5 months and I do remember going through something similar but put it down to teething and had the bonjela and pamol on hand.

Good on you for being the one to get up during the night...once I was back at work it was 50/50 or we took turns night about. Its hard enough being organised and getting to work but it sure makes it harder when you are tired.

Sorry I read and run last night but I'm back now, must be frustrating seeing all those page views and only one answer, apologies!

Anyhoo when I saw your thread title I immediately thought 'teething'! How are her nappies - does she have a rashy bum with it? JJ was playing up exactly like your DD before his first two teeth came through, seemed like nothing was happening then all of a sudden there they were. Have you tried an amber teething necklace (didn't make any difference for us, but lots of people swear by them)?

Hugs, it's hard going back to work eh, you're expected to work a full day then instead of being able to unwind when you come home it's straight into the baby wrangling then you don't get a full night's sleep... I hope you've had a chance to catch up on some rest this weekend!

I'd say teething. You might not see any teeth yet but they could be making there way up. We had to do the same with the night feed. It helped comfort her when she was a bit grizzly. I'm very lucky because my husband is the one who gets up to see her and gets me up if she needs a wee feed at night and hes the one who works. I won't use pamol on her at all and bonjela if i'm really desperate but we use these teething salts from the health food shop and they work an absolute treat. we also use a amber teething necklace during the day which has helped enormously with her dribbling.
Good luck and hang in there.

Thanks guys - nappies are fine (poos are sometimes a bit more solid than the norm but I think this is cause of the solids), no real nappy rash at all. No rest this weekend DH works 7 days - the joys of him being self employed! I have to admit I don't use Pamol a lot either but do use the bonjela a little bit - I will ask DH to go to the health shop tomorrow for some teething salts - are they easy to use? I have a necklace too and need to start using it daily in my mad rush to get out the door in the mornings I forget it. In some ways I can't wait to see some little teeth peeking thru but I love the toothless little grin!!

You just give them two tablets that dissolve in their mouth. My wee girl knows the container there in and opens her mouth when she sees them.
The salts are "New Era Infant Teething Pain Tissue Salts. See how you go with them.
