My young man will be 5 next month and i am going to attempt to make his birthday cake myself. He was wanting a Tiger cake but it was going to cost way to much to have it made and i couldnt justify spending over $200 for a cake. I thought i would do it myself..lol..sadly not the tiger cake...it would be pretty simple with jungle figerines on top. What i want to know is, is there any tricks to using fondant and how do i put two cakes together like a 8inch on top of a 10inch? Since i will be covering them both with different animal prints do i cover them first then put one on top of the other and how do i stop it from falling off??? All help and tips are welcome and needed...hahahaha

Oooh you want to speak to 3xMummy, she's a cake pro!!

In the recipes section there is a cake thread which I found really helpful when maling DS's cake and there are lots of q&a's from people which might help. I'm not sure what kind of fondant you want to use but I have an awesome marshmallow fondant recipe I can send you if you go that way. Its so yum and so easy to make Just PM me if you end up wanting it!

Good luck!!

If you have a bit of a Google, Jane Lipton did a New Zealand's Hottest Home Baker Masterclass where she showed how to make a gorgeous jungle themed 3-layer cake with fondant, and gives loads of tips and the cake looks amazing at the end, and it doesn't seem too hard to make.

If you're keen for the video I'll have a better search online for it tomorrow for you.
