Topic: Well, well, well... Posted: 29 August 2006 at 7:07pm |
It seems my little gremlins are playing tricks on us already.
Had a m/w appt today and all was good, but she sent me for another scan to check growth and blood flow to the placenta etc.
So the lady scanned Mercedes and said her tummy was measuring abot 3-4 days AHEAD of where we are at. So not small at all. Go figure. Gave me great peace of mind until....
She went to scan Sienna and lo and behold - who has a small tummy? It seems the little gremlins switched sides some time a couple of weeks ago, and then during the past week have switched back again. Freaked the scan lady out as she thought (as we all did) that they were too big now to switch sides!
So Mercedes was never small, Sienna was always the smaller one, they were just playing games! God help me when they arrive if they're already switching places!
But the final results were that even tho Sienna is small, she is still on the same growth curve so not dropping anymore, which means no urgent delivery, and hopefully she will stay there when we have the next scan next week.
Oh, and they have put on around 300g each in the past week and looking nice and chubby which is good.

Glad to hear all is well.
Thought they would have run out of room to be switching sides but good on them they have been playing tricks on you.

Well, thats good news Emma, but I can see you having your hands full with them! Just think if they can cause this much havoc in the womb, just imagine what they can do once two years old!
Just to freak you out! You'll have to school up Maya to be "police sister"

Good news Emma, last thing you wanted was to deliver early - and yes looks like it will all be fun and games when they are old enough to start playing tricks....

OK so now I'm really confused. The doctor writing the report doesn't think they have changed sides, she thinks that last weeks measurements were wrong and that neither of them were ever on the 10th percentile. Who knows - at this point I just want them out so we can tell 100% for certain which one is which!

Yaaay! That's so cool, Emma. So you're definantly going to paint their toenails different colours, or make those little bracelets nice and tight so they can swap them over in their little cribs?!?
