Topic: Project for me and DH Posted: 29 May 2008 at 8:27am |
Was reading the OB mag the other day and I came across the article about couple time.
One of the ideas was doing a project together, I think this is a great idea and DH is keen too.
What we need is a project that can be done indoors, in the evenings and can be done only once per week (in the weekends).
I'm looking for suggestions.
We spoke last night about doing scrapbooking together and trying to sort out the copious photos we've acquired over the past 11 years.
Do you have any other project ideas?

We often do wee DIY jobs together. I am useless, but it gives me a real sense of pride, and I get the added bonus of knowing i am really annoying him and he can't say a thing!! We've built a fence, made a concrete retaining wall (I was crud at doing the mortar, but it looks great in the end) concrete curbing and other little bits and bobs. He know I like to "help" and I think he secretly likes it! (I just like putting on my gummies and playing with the tools, lol)

We are both rubbish at DIY so our "project" is always a puzzle. We pick huge ones and sit down once a week for the evening and work on it I know...we're nerds....

Oh man, these all sound great and makes me think DH and I should organise a 'project' together (hehe, I've been inspired by a lot by things on OB today )... I looooove DIY projects but DH not so much, same for the Jigsaws (plus I'm a bit anal and control-freakish wanting to do them all by myself, oops! )...
hmmmm, think I might have to check in regularly see if any other kind of ideas grab me, then it'll be the hardest part, dragging DH away from the sport on TV to actually give it a go... hope you don't mind me doing a bit of poaching MrsMojo!!

What about designing a photo wall? Display photo of you both and Miss M and any other family members.
We do Wasgij puzzles together.

We are absolutely sucky at doing things together. We have differing ways of doing things and they clash having said that we did manage to put a bale of pink batts in the ceiling together last weekend without getting cranky at each other

 Woohoo, well done you two.
I was thinking if we could find something where we're doing the same thing at the same time but seperately it would be good because we're both very strong willed and opinionated (no wonder we got a stubborn daughter, she fits into the clan really well).
I love DIY but we're in a rental so can't do anything to the house or property. Love the idea of building a doll house (or even a Wendy House) and also the photo wall idea, we really do need to do something with all our photo's.
I'm really curious to see how the paper mache mushrooms turn out floss. Our niece is 8 in a couple of months so we could make a pinata birthday gift for her with paper mache.
Please keep the ideas coming.
