Topic: New house present Posted: 18 August 2009 at 4:12pm |
Hi,
A very good friend of mine is moving to her brand new home and she is super excited, I would like to give a nice meaningful gift but cannot think what.
She has a small girl the same age as my son, so also got to think practically, am I right in thinking a plant might not be good, do babies empty soil on the floor? She is more mobile than mine.
suggestions please.

What about a plant to plant outside? Or some sort of garden ornament type thing, a stone for the garden, brass sculpture etc..
We got a few plants for the garden when we moved into our place. My favourite present was a beautiful vase, now that we actually have space for stuff like that.

I think a piece of art would be great.

Oh yeah art is a fantastic gift Trade me has some awesome stuff really cheap but make sure you know what she's into you wouldn't want something that clashes with the rest of her stuff.

A wee herb garden - either for inside on the window sill or outside.
If you have $ perhaps a voucher for a lawn mow or window clean?
There's also some really cool door mats available.
A vase? They're something that I never seem to have enough of and people don't really buy them for themselves.

Such good suggestions.
i really wouldn't know what kind of art she might like, wish i did, maybe i'll pop into her current house take a peak, a money tree sounds cool is that a real tree?
i also like the vase suggestion, you are so right, you never buy them for yourself.

What we call a money tree is a jade plant and looks like this its a very sweet idea and would look good in an entrance way / front door.
