I'm down here in Christchurch, and boy, has it been a busy day -- I wrote a blog post about it here. It's been a beautiful day. After we set up the stand, Paul and I took the bus into town and wandered around. We felt like we did when we were first together -- footloose, fancy-free, talking about everything and nothing, just enjoying each other's company. We even went into a funky store called Cosmic something-or-other and tried on hats -- Paul bought three, and I bought two! It was like being a student again. Totally wicked. We nipped in to see a movie (District 9 -- it was really different and good) and then had Thai food for dinner, stopped at Pak N Save to pick up snacks for tomorrow, and fell into a taxi back to the motel. I found a $20 note on the floor of the taxi and gave it to the driver (although of course I was tempted to keep it) -- I really hope that good karma comes back to me in the form of things working out well this weekend. I'm putting the finishing touches on my speech now, so hopefully I won't be too nervous tomorrow. I think that giving a seminar is scarier than being on TV -- at least when you're on TV, you're in a studio and there are only the presenters and the camera people there, you can't see your audience's reactions the way you can when you're live. So wish me luck!
And yes, please come visit me at the stand, and say hello. (And buy/renew your subscription while you're at it, because we have some truly amazing goodies. All the other stand holders were noseying today when Paul and I were setting up, and lots of them wanted to subscribe right then and there, but I told them they have to wait until tomorrow!) Don't be embarrassed! I'm very human! Besides, I am used to people coming up to me to introduce themselves -- today a lady I haven't met but have spoken to on the phone once or twice came up to me, introduced herself, and gave me a big hug. It was lovely! That's what I love about this job -- we can just be ourselves and chat and not worry about trying to impress each other.
Anyway, I better go finish this speech, so see you all tomorrow! I'll update my blog tomorrow night too (if I'm not too knackered). Lots of hugs! I'm so excited to be here!

Hey there, I'm sorry I missed you yesterday! The man on our stand is my husband, Paul -- he was in charge of things while I had to run off and do stuff like record a live radio cross with More FM and give my seminar on work/life balance. But you're right, there were heaps of people there! We'll get the official count when we go into the Show this morning, but I am pretty sure we gave away over half of our magazines, which is fantastic. If you're heading to the P&C Show in Christchurch today, please stop by stand 24 and say hello to me! We're onm your right as you come in the doors. I also wrote a blog post about the first day of the Show here. Hope to see some of you today! :)

Hi Becky - you will be fine with your Mountain Buggy. There will be lots of prams but they have set it up with really wide aisles. You would probably struggle to get right into a kiosk but they are pretty small so you would be able to see your son the whole time. I went around 1pm yesterday and I didn't think it was too busy - I could easily get into all the kiosks and buy what I needed
You were also MIA when I came past Katherine but I did get my OhBaby subscription and free gifts and magazine - great offer! I had to queue to fill my form in so must be a good sign!

Hey ladies! I'm sorry I kept missing you -- the man there was my husband Paul, and the other lady was our helper Lilith. I had to nip out a few times to do the radio spot and the seminar, and it's a shame I kept missing our members! The boss is going to wonder where I got to since nobody seems to have actually have seen me... LOL. I promise I was there, just crazy busy!
Today was a great day, a bit quiet but gave us lots of time to chat to visitors. I ran around at the end and did a bit of shopping -- some Huggalugs leggings for my daughter and had a good nosy at the YmamaY clothes, they are so gorgeous. I'll do my last blog post later on tonight or tomorrow morning. The husband and I are going to the movies tonight, as it's our last night child-free! I'm glad you came by and I wouldn't have cared if you said it was you but didn't buy a subscription, we were there to talk to people and hand out magazines, there's no reason to be embarrassed about who you are! So next time, Trish, you just come right up and say hey. :)

Well Katherine you can tell your boss that you were definitely there when I was there! It was nice to be able to thank you in person for the free ticket. Thanks for picking my name out!!
Think Benjamin's a bit young yet for the paints but we can put them away for later. Great show and I'm only sorry I couldn't stick around for your seminar. Grumpy baby = home time!!
