QuoteReplyTopic: Outfit for a wedding.. what do you think? Posted: 21 March 2008 at 6:07pm
We are going to a wedding in a couple of weeks.. it's a backyard twilight wedding with buffet afterwards so I'm not entirely sure if it means I get glammed up or not.. I don't think it's going to be a big wedding either.
I have 2 choices for my outfit and I don't know which I should go for.. both outfits I would need to buy something for which I'm hoping to do tomorrow so I need to figure out what I'm going to wear!
1. Really nice black dress pants and a really nice top (which I don't have and will have to go and buy)
2. Black cocktail dress that I already own, it's knee length and really nice. But it's got no arms so because it's an evening thing I'd need to go buy something to pop on overtop for later or I'll freeze my bum off.
DH isn't helpful either. He says "I don't know" and when I ask how dressy does he think it will be (his friends wedding, not mine) Grrr
Ohhh and with the dress I'd have to go buy a new pair of shoes... what hardship but I'd probably just go to the shoe warehouse to get some cheapo ones since my feet don't fit my shoes I got to go with the dress thanks to Daniel.
I'd go with the pants and a nice top and necklace and earrings. But then if you wear the dress you get to buy 2 new things. Pants are good though for evening weddings won't get cold legs!!!
I would go with pants as well, warmer and also you can't ever really look too over dressed in pants but you also won't look under dressed if everyone is glammed up. If you have a principles in palmy have a look in there they do some really beautiful tops.
My dad re-married in May last year and the reception was in a marquee and it was quite a cold night. I was thankful that I decided to buy a pair of nice black pants with a 3/4 length top and just wore my black work jacket over when it got nippy.
It's always a good excuse to go shopping either way - I 'had' to buy a new top last night before I went to Jack Johnson because I didn't have any 'going out' tops that were less than about a year old (shows how much I 'go out!') and love it so much I will wear it out again to my friends DH's 40th tomorrow!
I havwe a wedding next weekend and thinking of going with a skirt and to. Not that I wear skirts very often but found it an excuse to go buy one (and the top just cause I think I can LOL)
You can't go wrong with black pants and a nice top. Not too dressy, but not too casual - smack bang in the middle. And then you can just take a nice black jacket to wear when it gets cold.
