Topic: Any last minutes tips for the trip? Posted: 31 March 2008 at 12:29pm |
Well me and Rohan are off to the UK tomorrow.
I've got my Quicksmart buggy and I've been practicing putting it up and down.
Got his food incase he doesn't like the airline stuff.
Lots of nappies and baby grows as eassy clothes.
Got panadol for landlings
Small toys that will probably get lost on the plane
Any last minute tips or auggestions on how to do 30 hours on a plane with a 10 month old?

Good luck, I'm sure everything will be fine
I think you'll find customs at the airport worse than actually being on the plane.
Hopefully he'll sleep most of the way!

take a blanket on with you - airline ones are nasty!...and boiled water and formula powder.....and a toy that plays music to put near him when you want him to sleep....eg tad or similar....
and try to get some sleep yourself too
and have a great trip...I have forgotten where you are off to...UK or USA poss??? 30 hours to me sounds like me trying to go to east coast USA....and KAtherine and Emma rose soon!!!

we took Rhyley and the other kids to the uk and our own blanket was good (there wasn't one in the cot provided) your own food. You can not take boiled water but we could make his warm water up by mixing their cold and hot water together and then mixing the formula (which we took packets of) Books - rhyley loved looking at books.snack food. They are a little relaxed at customs with Baby stuff and the 100mls.
enjoy your trip - are you going to see family or just a holiday?
We head to sydney next month and I am dreading the plane ride now that Rhyley is very mobile and running. he slept most of the Uk/usa flights.

Front Pack? Just in case he decides he wants cuddles while you are in transit?

God I'm sooo scared!!! We're off to see my parents who I haven't seen for three years and I can't wait. But it's a horrible trip to do with Rohan and we have to leave Daddy behind:( as it costs too much for all of us to go.
Part of it will be fantastic - watching my parents meet Rohan for the first time will be awesome but I can't get past thinking about the flight at the moment.
Can't wait to get there as we'll be fine then, but just can't stop crying at the moment. What am I going to be like at the airport!!

You'll be fine I've flown several times with my daughter by myself - once to the US last year.

Just having a pity party! Thanks for the words of encouragment. We've been out for a wander round the supermarket and bought some disposable bibs and now we're all packed and ready to go!
Will tell you all about it when we get back!

Hey Tricia, have a great time, no tips from me!! But will be asking you all about it when you get back!!
I'm sure Rohan will be fine, like you say, he'll flirt with everyone, I would be surprised if you get to hold him at all!
Drop me a line when you get back and are recovered from the jetlag and we'll catch up for lunch!!
Take care and enjoy!!!

I used a front pack at the airports with Rhyley BUT I couldn't imagine carrying a 10 month old (Rohans age) in one as he would e heavy and my back hurt after a while.
Sure she has gone now - i am so jealous (not so much the flight but going to UK lucky thing!)
