and that she can "hear herself talking in both her ears" (this is Hannah talking). What is she trying to tell me? I was thinking about an ear infection but that seems a bit too far? Also she was crying about it in the middle of last night, fine all day today, and complaining of it again after dinner.

ETA: underarm temp 36.1C; has a bit of a dribbly nose but by that I mean she has blown it 2-3 times in the whole day today; she's not itchy or sore.

I used to get a wax build up in my ears busymum which would block my ears, and what would sometimes happen was I'd get a little water behind hte wax, and it was extremely painful. Mostly though they just felt blocked.

But, that hearing herself talking in both her ears sounds like she has blocked ears - it's hard to describe, but I know exactly what she means. She might need her ears syringed (sp?). It wouldn't hurt to have a peek in there anyway.

I would say go and pay the $8 to see the dr at city doctors. Ear infections can flair up at night.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

I think it seems like she has blocked ears as ginger said.. I've had the same problem for a while now, and it's getting worse now I'm back in NZ

If it were an ear infection, she'd be crying..they are really painful. (I asked my doctor when my ears were last blocked ).

I agree with meow and ginger. I used to get really bad blocked ears and my mother would have to take me to the docs every two months to get them syringed. I still get them every now and then especially if I have had a cold.

It could be fluid behind the ear -- which isn't necessarily painful, but can feel like a huge pressure in the ear. I'd take her to the doctor and get them to look inside and see what they can see!

If it's the fluid behind the ear, they won't see anything! So annoying, but worth checking out with the doc.. I was more meaning that I don't think you'll need to take her to the doctor tonight, sleep will help her feel better.

Well I've given her Pamol tonight but I think I'll go check it out sometime tomorrow so we don't get caught out over the weekend. I think it might be congestion because there is no redness or soreness.

She told me that Pamol tastes like "lollies"... uh oh lol
