Topic: Pregnancy classes?? Posted: 01 August 2006 at 12:19pm |
Hi all
I started pre-natal yoga last night and throughly enjoyed it. However its just for six week blocks at a time with a few weeks break in between. I would like to supplement it (or use it to supplement) another type of pregnancy exercise class such as pilates or water aerobics.
Does anyone know of any such classes in the Epsom/Royal Oak/Onehunga/Ellerslie etc area of Auckland?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Mrs Crispy,
I have also been doing pregnancy yoga classes (6 week blocks) and at the moment my teacher is away but is due to come back shortly so I get to do another 6 week class. Perhaps you could get yourself a DVD and do some exercise at home or go on regular walks - that always helps.

Suzi - I think there is a place on the North Shore that does pregnancy yoga, called the Yoga Tree ?? Not 100% sure, although I know there are one or two out there (I'm in Birkenhead).

Yup Suzie the yoga tree in Takapuna does them, I went to look into the classes a while back and I remember being a bit put off being told that I had to pay upfront for all the classes even though there were some weekends when I knew I wasnt going to be able to make it... but from what I hear the classes are good. They were $60 per month and on Sat mornings and I thinkj you had to start at the begining of a month - ie the first saturday - which would mean that another group is startign this weekend...

My physio runs Aquanatal classes at the YMCA in Glen Innes. Not sure what the details are as it's too far for me, I go to the Tues morn Aquarobics at Mt Albert

Thanks for that ladies will definitely check it out .. although sat mornings are out for me atm ... kids sports and house renovations happy joy, so will be looking for evening classes :) Aquanatal sounds great ... might look at that when I finish work ...
Jax there is a sign about yoga on onewa road that i pass in the mornings but I keep on forgetting to write the number down .... must put a sticky on the dash board reminding me to get a pen out before I hit the traffic ...
