 Topic: start work on monday!!!

Just wondering how to balance everything???
Start work at a new job on Monday my son will be at the same day care as I work at. But I won't be with him but will be able to see him at lunchtime. still feel guilty!!! for leaving him.
It's full time, have been a SAHM for nearly a year and feel
 for going back but have to.
oh well any tips and ideas for making it easier.  Thanks in advance

Most importantly try not to feel guilty and if you can afford get a cleaner. In fact all mums weather they are SAHM or not should get a cleaner - funded by Aunty Helen

Big hugs, it can be and is hard going back to work. Im sure after a few weeks you will find a routine that works for you. Ooo you are very luck to have DC onsite. My sons daycare is 15mins drive away from me.

I started back at work today (will be working 2 days a week). It was really hard leaving her, but she coped heaps better than I thought she would (caregiver had a few feeding problems with her, but that they can't be fixed over time). When I left her she was sitting down playing with the caregivers 2 children and then I picked up she was all smiling and happy and was fine.
I guess the main thing (apart from leaving her) I found the hardest was tying to get her and me dressed and out the door this morning by 8.15 (when I finally got into the car I realised that I hadn't even gotton round to having a drink of water). So my tip would be...to make sure you are all organised the night before and if you have a partner to get them to help you (I thought I could do everything myself, but should have got him to help).

you'll be fine. I am a believer in the 'routine' that works for you. I am still trying to perfect mine since i work part time but fill in alot so my hours can be all over the place. i do find the times I work full time at the end of the week I am so stressed because of lack of routine and things not getting done. Having said that it can and does work. Before rhyley (ETA: I had 2 kids to sort for school etc...) i worked full time and it worked great.
I love going to work (part time) and its my break not the other way round. I know the kids and Rhyley in particular are happy and being looked after.
One thing is getting the right babysitter/daycare that you are happy with as it make a huge difference. (especially for those mummy guilts)
Just remember you are doing this for your child/children.

Geez i'll say Nikki
I went back to work part time when Caitlyn was about 8months and it was sooo hard leaving her , then i worked full time from the time she was 2(ish) and while its still hard sometimes , when special things come up at school that id love to be at arise, on the whole it does get easier,its never wonderful and theres always that little bit of guilt but you dont always feel like your doing the wrong thing by them.
Caitlyn is just as happy as the next kid, its just about finding a balance between work and home, and making sure that since you cant spend as much time with them that the time you do spend is quality time .
And it gives you something to look forward to, if ever my day is dragging (usually if we have a rootcanal) all i have to do is remember that my girl will be waiting for me and will greet me at the door with a hug and kiss...my day suddenly picks up
And btw, good luck for tomorrow Nikki, cant wait to hear how it went

Thanks for the advice everyone Taking Luke to settle today so will see how it goes. I think I will be the one That has issues leaving, not him!!! I have only ever left him with my mum and only for about 5 hours only twice!!
