Most boring topic EVER here!

I have my very first dishwasher (that's not named 'Andie', ha ha)... YAY!  It had it's maiden run last night and I was very excited about no longer needing to scrub out baby bottles each night.  Well, they came out with some of the fatty residue from Ella's formula still on them, and the teats had gone cloudy.  Is there some trick to getting bottles and teats clean in the dishwasher, or are they just meant to be done by hand?

Thanks.  Boring, eh!

Andie

I put mine in the dishwasher once and have not bothered again. They came out clean but they had been dyed slightly red from something else in the dishwasher so decided it was easier just to wash them by hand.
I also found that it didn't wash the teats properly, and they went cloudy and a bit red. But my dishwasher is about a million years old so it might not be the best at cleaning.
It did warn me on the avent bottles that they can become discoloured from going in the dishwasher but they just looked so gross that I feel better washing them by hand.

I put my bottles in the dishwasher but wash the teats by hand as they do go all cloudy, plus they always seem to end up upside down full of dirty water so I have to reclean them anyway!

Yay for getting a dishwasher! Does insurance pay out on a claim to replace the last one that stopped working, called Jono?
