This is what I usually tell people:
10-12 as a newborn
6-8 by several months
4-6 from six months
3-4 from one year
Very approximate numbers and everyone has different views on nappy changing - some prefer hourly right through to only one or two a day!!

Hi Sarah Beth,
A newborn goes through about 6-8 disposables a day. As their feeds get less regular they go through less. My one-year-old goes through 4 or 5 per day, that's about as low as it gets.

If you're going to stock up don't get to many newborns as it really depends on the size of your baby when they are born as to how long you will use them.
Alex is 6 mths and we go through 4 nappies a day....a change after each feed although I've lost count of all the times I have to change him because he enjoys doing a poo in a fresh nappy (must be comfortable or something!)

Ok so for all thoes ladies planning to stock up on Nappies before baby is born I have a tip. Only buy about 5 pack's of new born size then the next size up if you find you have over stocked an a certain size then take the unopened pack's back toyour supermarket even without a docket as most are willng to swap them for the next size up or down they will not give you $$$ back tho only another pack of nap's.

Dag nab it, I've got 10 packs of newborn naps, and after intending to get a couple of different brands whenever they were on special as I'm doing the groceries, I've now realised that I only ever came across specials on ONE brand... aaarrrggghhh!!! Maybe the shop will swap my Giggles over for a larger size if I need to (thanks for the tip), but the Treasures Ultra have all been re-packaged now so they won't want them back!

We change Ashlee at every feed and she feeds 3-4 hourly so yeah probably 6-8 wet/dirty nappies. She too decides she needs to wee every time daddy changes her hehe!
I second and third those people who say don't buy too many newborn packs of nappies. I'm sure Ashlee's almost out of the newborn size now!
Oh and welcome to the club Sarah Beth so glad you could join us!

Man I cant even remember now but I do know that I bought 14 packs of 26 treasures and then had to buy 2 boxes of 109 huggies nappies... but I have to admit that I was one of those mums...where I changed my baby often....I was too scared that she was uncomfy...and then there were leaks etc.
But I'd say Aimee is just about right!!
dont buy to many infants may be 3-4 packs as they do grow out of them quickly (well I know my bub did)

Andrew was in newborn nappies for quite a while. I only brought 2 packs of newborn and a few of the next size up but he wasn't in the small size until about 3 months. When he ws born he was going through 8-10 a day. Also think of if your child is going to go into daycare as well. Andrew's daycare changes the nappy every 2 hours so we go through a few there.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

We probably go through about 10, which includes a couple of 'accidents' LOL Erin seems to have that same pooping / peeing thing when her Daddy is changing her
