raspberry leaf tea is supposed to prepare your uterus for delivery. It supposedly makes the contractions more effective in dilating your cervix. I say supposedly cause I don't know if it really works - that said I drank loads of it with both my boys and had Jake, posterior - 5 hours, and Taine just over 2 I think..labour at 11:45 and he was born at baout 2:15am I think - must check my birth story! It also supposedly can trigger early labour but both my boys were late.

Short of medical induction, there are not really any safe ways to bring on an early labour yourself. As horrible as the last weeks of pregnancy can be, most of the time you have to wait it out. You could see a homeopath about safe remedies to ready the body for labour, however make sure you run anything and everything past your LMC. Good luck.

im drinking rasp tea to do the toning thing too.... not to bring labour on early, i dont know if that actually is true, i had it with my last two pregnancy and have been induced with both!, i have also noticed my braxtons have slowed down a lot since i started taking it.
hang in there bekkie, really isnt much longa! and i feel ya pain and stuff! i have recently heard of a herbal pill that you can take when you are due and if you are ready it helps labour get started, but only if you are ready.
other than that theres walking, sex, the EPO, and (sorry to toni but) pineapple which all help to "prepare" the body/uterus for labour, but i dont think anything actually induces until our bodies are ready.
hope the next few weeks fly by for you, keep rested too. you'll be holding your precious boy soon!
and i really do understand how you are feeling about wanting it over!!!! take care

Yep EPO is ment to be inserted vaginally. But I was told by midwife to only start at 37 weeks.

Hey everyone, thanks for your help on that! I guess I'll be coping with this the best I can then for now. I really do hope that time goes by faster!!
Can i get the raspberry leaf tea from the supermarket? whats the best kind to buy?
With the EPO I think i might just keep taking them orally til 38wks then change to vaginally MAYBE. Im wanting them to help my skin too cos apparently they should? Well i hope so cos im coverd in spots and pimply things that are so frustrating. Well hormone spots to be exact but they can pop like pimples!
Hey Rachel (mum2emj) we are pretty close together!! You must be feeling like your nearly had enough too!!

I'm taking both the raspberry leaf tea and EPO at the moment. I was advised by my midwife that they are both safe after 36 weeks. I got the tea from the supermarket, its a Red Seal one but you can also get it from health shops too.
Just a warning if you do switch to EPO up your fufu, wear a liner as it does all come out a couple of hours later!

I do the EPO morning and night. It isn't that gross, what with all the extra discharge during pregnancy anyway! I just hope its helping, lol!
Yup I'm due soon, counting the days now. I feel like I've been pregnant forever!!
