In preparation for me returning to work, we are giving Kaela (2.5mos) EBM each morning. This works fine when we are at home but how does one manage EBM with outings? Going to a friend's place wouldn't be a problem but going shopping is. How long can EBM stay warm for without going bad?

Busymum, I express every morning and put bottle into a bottle bag if we're heading out, otherwise it goes in the freezer. If its been about an hour and half-two hours then I will reheat, either at a cafe (asking for jug of hot water), but I also have a small stainless steel jug with me and just fill it up wherever I can (baby rooms at mall etc).

Fresh EBM can keep at room temperature for between 6-10 hours apparently, although I have never tried. But if you were keeping in a bottle bag I'm sure it'll be fine

Thanks This morning we heated the milk up a little hot just before going out, then when we arrived at our destination it was the right temperature to feed her right away (had to get her out of bed as we left). Good to know it can stay at room temp for quite a few hours.

The breast-pump is my favourite device!

Glad it all worked out well!
