Topic: 12 days and counting..... Posted: 09 June 2006 at 10:06pm |
12 days left.
12 days until my "due date"... and I'm getting nervous!
I keep telling myself, 'You are going to be FINE Wendy. You've done this before!', but I can't help it anymore... how can I relax about labour? I don't want it to be on my mind all the time otherwise I will just work myself up and make a huge deal about nothing.
Any pointers on getting my mind of this?

sorry no advice, Ive got ages to go and Im still anxious, mainly cos i had kobe by now so feels strange still being pregnant and Im feeling so much the same that I keep thinking its going to happen anytime now.
Im also nervous about going through labour again even though I know i can do it and it wasnt that bad. I cant decide if its worse to not know whats going to happen or the anticipation and knowledge of what you have to go through! Guess you just have to try and keep busy or something???

It'll pretty much be on your mind for the next two weeks or until the 'big day'. However, if it is any consolation, once it all begins, I am sure most of your anxiety will melt away - and there is always that post birth endorphin (sp) rush where everything in the world seems brilliant - especially that little person in your arms. Take care of yourself; try and get as much rest as is practicable in the next week or two and best of luck!

I was a nightmare in the last couple of weeks before having my daughter. It was a good thing she arrived ontime or I would have driven everyone around me crazy! I was swinging between complete excitement that she was going to be here so soon, and complete nervousness at the prospect of pushing her out.
My family and friends were great, they rallied around bringing me magazines and movies to watch and taking me out for last minute coffees and shopping trips.
My hubby and I also tried to spend a bit more quality time together too, as we knew there weren't going to be many date opportunities for a while.
All the best for the big day, looking foward to your birth announcememt!!

Well you can go and stuff your face with lots of bad foods and lollies and softdrinks etc... then that'll have you thinking- oh i shouldnt have done that for a while. Hahaha.
No help from me either... I'd just try and make the most of the time thats left and rest rest rest. Watch some movies, sleep, do nothing and let people wait on you. Go get pampered or have your hair done. Hmmm that's what I want right now haha.
Good luck!

Oh wow Nicola we are too!! I will be waiting for your baby announcement too... better not be before mine! haha
Thanks for all the posts girls. Looks like there is only one solution... getting pampered while I can!!!
I will do my best to get out and get my hair done or something like that, and until then, I have our daughters 5th birthday to organise for this weekend!
THAT should keep my mind of everything shouldn't it???

Oh Wendz I know I will be exactly teh same when I am at you stage - so exciting and so scarey at the same time. I gues the best thing to do is just to relax and let it pass (hard I can imagine!) and spend time with your gorgeous girl before it all gets crazy with the new baby's arrival...
Good luck, I am totally hanging out to hear if it is a Noah!
