Topic: Cough remedies Posted: 05 July 2007 at 4:52pm |
Does anyone have any cough remedies they swear by. I have had one of those tickly throat coughs for about 4 days now and have had next to no sleep. Ive tried 4 different cough mixtures, on that says its specifically for tickly coughs but none of them have done anything. Ive tried throat lozenges and sprays hoping if I numb the area I wont notice the tickle but its driving me up the wall. Everytime I breath it tickles then I start coughing and then cough so much I almost throw up!!!! Any ideas?

I'm sorry to say it, but I think cough syrups and lozenges are placebos. lemon and honey?

Vicks on the bottom of your feet at night time works a treat , I thought that is was just an old wives tale but both mine had coughs a couple of weeks ago so I tried it and they both slept soundly with no coughing all night.

It's true, my doctor says they are just a waste of money.
Lemon and honey drinks work, sucking on lozenges (don't fall asleep with them in your mouth though - I have before! )
Heat your room up at night, I find when I have an itchy cough, if the room temperature is cold, I cough more.

fattarts - apparently (this is from memory so I might be wrong)is increases the quantity (or something)of CM so if you down it just before and during the fertile phase of your cycle then you have a greater chance of conceiving cos the spermies have more CM to swim in. That is probably really poorly described. Sorry

no pill we were ttc and i had a cold so didnt try robutussin to get preggers but am sure it helped- but apparently it does something to the "juices" that help spermies swim etc etc....??? Have two other friends who also used it (and another cough mixture) while TTC and became preggers....
be careful!
