I am going back to work soon and was wondering, if I am expressing milk everyday to be used the following day, what happens about the milk for monday? Does that mean you have to feed your baby AND express milk on a Sunday?? Would your boobs get used to that? But what happens on a Friday when you don't need to express milk for the Saturday?? Just wondering how it all works - can anyone share their experiences? Thanks

You could always freeze Friday's milk for Monday? That's what I used to do. Now I don't bother coz I'm only at work for 5 hours at a stretch so I feed her before and after and she has solids and water in between.

BM keeps in the fridge for up to five days so I'd just express every day and leave the rest in the fridge, or freeze it for back-up. How old is your baby? If over 6mos I wouldn't bother, your body will accommodate it alright.

Thanks for your replies. I thought breastmilk only kept for 48 hours in the fridge? She is 3 and half months now, will be nearly 5 months when I go back.

Apparently it has changed in the last two years, or so the la Leache rep was trying to tell me when Kaela was born. It has increased to 5 days in the fridge or 5 days in the freezer.

Eek, LLL can keep that recommendation - I've seen what it looks like after 48 hours in the fridge
