Topic: dry skin Posted: 06 June 2006 at 9:15am |
Have any of you other pregnant ladies had trouble with dry skin?
I've never really had to bother moisturising much with mine but now my hands and fingers are getting really dry and a bit sore no matter how much i slather on.
Can anyone reccomend a good moisturiser for reeeeaally dry hands? I'm 99% sure its not excema or anything, just dry as my face and lips are a little dry too.
Thanks!

There is one by Neutrogena that is brilliant.....you get it from the chemist or supermarket.
Also Cetaphil have good Moisturiser as well.
Both good for senstive skins.
The other thing which we use tonnes of is Aqueous cream. Get it from the chemist in huge tubs for $10 and can use for soap and also moisturiser. Cheap but good.
My skin gets dry in this cold weather. Sucks!!

Roskins(sp?) dry skin cream, is excellent. The one in a white tub or bottle with blue writing.

Lipobase repair is GREAT for dry skin - I had really bad dry skin on my hands and face after Andrew was born. You can get it at the chemist for under $20. Nivea Intensive Dry Skin moisturiser is also really good - you can usually find it at the supermarket.

Yip and I also agree with Emeldee, Lipobase cream is good, and some chemist have sample tubes, so even if you grab one of those and give it a trial run.

thanks everyone, i'm off to the pharmacy to check them all out. i have been using a neutrogena one but to no effect unfortunately, so might need something more industrial strength!
am putting away litres of water a day but i guess its all going to baby first and there's not a lot left for my skin.
thanks again for all the reccomendations!

Yip Lemnis fatty cream is also excellent and cheap on prescription, it acts as a barrier cream as well and that is why it is a little bit greasy, it is also okay to use on face. I have a lot of moisturising creams lying around as I have really bad eczema on my hands, I have some lemnis fatty cream and a sample tube of libobase lying around if you would like it, just PM me.
