As part of my graduate study, I am doing a breastfeeding paper (which will also go towards my certification as a lactation consultant), and one of my assessments is doing a field study. I require a mother who is preferably exclusively breastfeeding with a baby under the age of four months at in the middle of March (this is so I can observe feeding patterns before solids are introduced).
The field study is conducted over a period of 6 to 8 weeks, and will be finished by early May. I require a total of 4 x 1 hour sessions over that period that is broken up in two parts. The first part will start at the end of March/beginning of April. The second part will be done at the beginning of May.
During each session I will ask a series of questions and observe how you feed your child. Because I am a student, I will not be able to give any advice or comment on advice that people or medical professionals may have given you. I am merely there to understand how a feeding relationship is established and how this fits in with what I am learning.
If you need any further information about this, you can PM me. If you do agree to do the field study, you will be required to sign a consent form. Your name will not be used in my final report at all for confidentiality reasons. I also have an information sheet which explains things a bit more.
