So when I gave birth I experienced none of that hormonal stuff that most people talk about. I felt great, no crying, no up one minute and down the next or anything.
BUT now (6months down the track) I feel like a rollacoaster. I have never been an overly emotional person and I am finding this new phase very hard to deal with.
Anyone else go crazy at this point??

I didn't get the hormonal stuff at the beginning either but I did at about 3 months.. for me it was a phase but lasted about 3 weeks and I found that tough to deal with.

I had great support from DH and family though which got me through it instead of it leading onto anything like PND. Having a good rant every now and then was also really good. Like REALLY good lol

I hope its just a phase for ya

I just want to give you some hugs I got all the emotional crap over with in the first few weeks and it was horrible. It must be hard getting it now, just when you though you were safe!
Have you recently stopped breast feeding? Just because that can give you the 'baby blues' too.

For me, hitting the 6 month mark was horrible! Natalie's sleeping had turned to crap and she was irritable during the day. everyone was saying how lovely this stage was, and all I wanted to do was cry

For me anyway, it was like a delayed realisation that I had been doing this hard slog for 1/2 a year, and things didn't feel any easier, even though people kept saying it would!

we seem to have turned a corner in the last week, and she's becoming lovely to be around during the day, and I'm starting to enjoy being her Mum again, and actually looking forward to doing things, rather than just getting by day to day.

I don't know if it would have hit me had her sleeping been good at 6 months, but I was definitely feeling very down for 2-3 weeks just before/around the 6 month mark.

Big hugs, and see if you can get some time out to yourself.

Also at around 6 months, you realise that its kinda boring with this little person who isnt quite doing anything.  I went through a phase of thinking "what am I doing here".  It passed....but comes back from time to time.

At the antenatal class they all told us to watch out for the baby blues on Days 3-5.  I thought I was safe and then it caught me round Days 10-11.  So I guess anything goes.  Hope you feel an improvement soon.

I found I was fine after Caden was born, but when he was about 4-5 months old the traumatic birth experience caught up with me and I had a wee bit of post traumatic stress, I felt a it of a mess and things were "too hard" but I wasnt depressed and I didnt have any feelings of hate or...dislike for caden, I just felt all over the plce.
So i had a big cry and talk to my mum and DF and felt much beter afterwards, also talking to friends and knowing that they all have moments where they want to pack it all in, I think a lot of it is just being a mum!

Definitly talk to your family about how your feeling, and maybe make sure you have some "me time" and lots of fresh air, and you will probably find you feel a lot better

Thanks everyone. It is just nice to know that I"m not the only one. I just thought it so strange to get to this point and then loss all motivation and joy but sounds like a few of us have been there.
I'm going to go for a big walk today because I find exercise always helps so hopefully I'll feel a bit better.

Aw **hugs** for you, I found the first 6 weeks incredibly hard and every now and again have moments where I want to go to bed and wake up 2yrs ago when I was in an important job, earning great money, going on stressfree holidays to exciting places, had a waistline, could buy clothes whenever I wanted etc but that doesnt mean I dont love my little man to the moon and back (quote unquote ). I find if I'm getting a down about things that shaking up the routine a little helps, that is to say I spend a lot of time at home as that is when baby sleeps best but if we go into town or visit a friend or meet DH for lunch or go somewhere for a nice walk or book some 'me' time for a saturday morning haircut or manicure etc it makes me feel so much better about things xxx

Another blue day here. ITs not my little boy. In fact he's the highlight of most things but I just feel overwhelmed by life and tired oh so tired but not the kind of tired like I need a nap tired its another tired.
Got a busy day ahead of myself so that will help me not think about stuff. hmm I will get through this.
