Topic: still here Posted: 06 April 2006 at 9:09am |
Just so you guys dont wonder too much, i am still around, i got home from hospital last night about 7pm after spending 36 hours in there for high b/p, they have finally given me meds for it, but of course it took until i was hospitalised until they did.
I was a scary first 24hours as they talked about induction then probably just doing a c section, (even though my b/p was high, all my bloods and other tests were normal, no signs of pre eclamisa or anything).
I got really upset and told the specialist in no uncertain terms that if they had done sometime 5 wks ago when all this started then they wouldnt have put me in the position i am in now, and unless it was absouletly necessary then i wasnt having a c section, and i did not want to be induced until the middle of next week at the earliest, (as i felt they hadnt given the meds a chance to work).
Well wouldnt you know it, the meds are working so well, that all take of induction has stopped (at this stage) and i dont need to go back to the hospital until i have the baby.
Fingers crossed she comes on her own. i have a scan on monday to make sure that she is growing well but otherwise things are good again.
I am pleased i stuck to my guns or they would have just taken baby without giving me a choice.

Good on you Katrina for sticking up for you and Baby! Good to hear you've FINALLY got some meds for the b/p, here's hoping nothing else flares up since they took so long to give them to you!

Well done Katrina...good on you.
I have high blood pressure but funnily enough blood pressure was normal during pregnancy, however they wanted to induce me early because my BP started to go up....I said no way and Zaara came (well almost) on time when she was ready.
Here is hoping that your bub is happy and healthy and will soon join us.

yeap not long now, i have had a constant achy period pain backache since yesterday afternoon, and when the midwife did some acupuncture this morning my backache increased and i had some really good strong tightenings.
fingers crossed that something happens soon so i dont have to have any intervention
