Topic: Am I REALLY having a baby ??? Posted: 26 March 2006 at 11:24am |
I know this is going to sound like a REALLY silly topic, but I decided to bring it up since I was talking about it to someone last night...
I know I'm pregnant. I can *see* I'm pregnant. And of course, I definitely feel pregnant !! However, I still find it kind of unreal / surreal that there is actually a little person growing inside of me. So when I think about it, I feel like even more of a dag - but yeah, a lot of the time I can only *just* believe what's actually going on inside of me LOL
To "balance" all of this, and as most of you know, I'm getting really impatient and want to meet our bubba... something BAD LOL My reality check though is to remind myself what a struggle we would have if baby *did* come now.
Plus, I get bored REALLY easy and have struggled to find things to take my mind off having to wait another three months - mind you, this is normal even when I'm not pregnant.
Does this sound mental to you ladies ??

It is a really surreal experience being preggy - in fact I still feel like that sometimes NOW when I look at Hannah! Oh and if you are bored now, just wait until you have the baby - better get used to it!!

yeah Im finding it harder second time round. I dont feel as excited about being pregnant as I did with Kobe when its all new. This time its just waiting waiting waiting. I would like a little window I can see baby through so I can see what she is doing but know she is safe inside still.

LOL Robyn I like the window idea !! Although if other people could see it I think they'd freak out I'm excited just... impatient Which is when the "Am I *really* pregnant !?" bit kicks in...

Hehehe I try and look at it that way and it seems to "calm" things down upstairs for a bit (the thoughts don't seem to fire around the circuits as often)... but then the next day, back to normal ! LOL

jax i think you need to find something to fill in your time... if youve got 3 months to go you'll be climbing the walls by the time you get to 40 weeks.

Well, during the week its not as bad because I have work, but on the weekends it gets worse. We should be packing house, but we often get started and then go "ahhhh... we can do the rest later eh?"
And why else do you think I spend so much time on Oh Baby
I don't know how to explain this either without sounding "special" LOL But I am a highly active person mentally speaking, I need LOTS of input - mum thought I had ADD but apparently I just learn differently (they even tested my IQ which I thought was a real crack up).

i still wonder sometimes if all this is real, i can feel baby kick, i can see baby move, and i only have 4 wks to go, but i think that sometimes its not until baby is in our arms that we realise what a little miracle we have produced.
i am so impatient to meet our baby, that the waiting is really getting to me but at the same time i want her to stay in as long as possible to have the best start possible.
so i am right there with you Jax

me too jax, and this is 2nd time round for me!! i still find it almost impossible to believe that i am actually pregnant and am meeting my little dude in august. luckily i've got my little girl to keep me busy until then, otherwise i'd be climbing the walls by the time he's due! i don't remember being this impatient last time, but then i was working till a few weeks before...

that window thing made me laugh. the cows here belong to the university and have "windows" intheir sides so their stomachs can be studied. Mayeb you can get one of those fitted.

lol this reminded me of the movie 'short circuit' with the robot called #5 that went around speed reading 'input...need input'
i'm 13wks with #2 and STILL can't believe i'm actually a mum!! don't think it will ever sink in. i frequently forget i'm preggers again we found out so early and it seems to be taking forever to get anywhere.

Yeah Waikato Uni have the cows with windows in as well, they kind of freak me out. So could you imagine the look on peoples faces if they saw a window in a pregnant ladys tummy. Jax have you tried taking up a hobby like scrapbooking or painting or something? That could fill in your time.

what the heck? windows in cow tummys how does that work and how do I get one? I think Kobe is as impatient as me, whenever we talk about baby he gets all upset and hits my tummy saying bubba come, come on bubba come so now we have to avoid talking about the baby cos he gets to worked up and cant understand why she has to stay there.
