First of all: Sorry for the TMI!

So a bit of background: I had an episiotomy but it wsnt big enough and I tore really badly internally. It went through two arteries (bad luck for me!) so i almost died from blood loss, needed a transfusion, yadayadayada...anyway everything was stitched up.

So of course it hurt like hell at first. Its improved a bit in that i dont need painkillers everyday, but tis still quite sore and Im wodnering if it sounds normal? So it hurts when i sit down and walking round for awhile after. It hurt like hell when I go to the toilet. Sex is quite clearly out of the question! Its been over 2 months...does this sound ok? Or should I be a bit worried? I dont want to leave it if something is *wrong* IYKWIM

I would go to the doctor and just explain your concerns. I feel for you having had so much going on down there, but I really don't know if 2 months is a normal healing time for something like that. But yeah, better to err on the side of caution and get it checked out. While it probably would still be tender, I don't know if it should still hurt to sit and walk etc. Hope you get some answers soon.

Yeah maybe just get it checked out and get someone to check if it's all healed?? I had an episotomy too and mine took longer than the norm for me to get off pain meds.. my doctor thinks that I had a damaged nerve so that's why it hurt more than norm. But I was glad my MW had a look and told me it was all good down there lol.

I had an epi and internal stiches as well.

My epi stiches took about a week to heal and were all good(even the one I tore out getting out of the car on a slope - owww)

The internal ones took nearly 6 weeks, I could feel them rubbing and not in a nice rubbing kind of way! I got my MW to check them just about everytime she came as they didn't feel right, (has cs last time so didn't know what they were supposed to feel like!) I managed to pull one out which got rid of the worst of the rubbing, but I was still finding bits come out after I wiped at 6 weeks. Can be tender still now and its over 14 weeks!!

edited cos I can't spell!

Highly recommend zinc and vit C to help with healing. I hat a epi but no internal stiches and it took until about 5 weeks to feel ok down there.

I'd definitely see your doctor. I had a whopping epi as well with vessels cut, but after about 6-7 weeks, it was OK. You may well be within the range of "normal" recovery time but it's better safe than sorry.
