I haven't had one before but am wanting to have one with this baby. I am thinking home water birth!?
I can understand hubby being not so keen, a fear of the unknown kind of thing. Find a good midwife who is experienced in home births and discuss it with her (him?), maybe hubby will feel better then?

and one more on the way....
i havent had one my self but my sister wants one for next i agree with anna d get a good midwife and always have a back up plan maybe if u have a good backup plan hubby wont feel so outta sorts about it good luck
i havent had one but did consider having one myself, but after complications during pregnancy opted for the hospital birth and i made the right choice for me, after what happened! but goodluck with what ever you and hubby decide
Is it just your hubby isn't in to it or is he worried things might go wrong? I wanted one with my son but my man put his foot down & said no way. I thought he was just being stubborn but he admitted he was really afraid something bad would happen & that he would feel alot better about me being in a hospital in case something went wrong. He did promise me that if things went well then I could have a homebirth second time around though. LOL unfortunately that isn't going to happen either but I'm not worried

I agree with Toni - what is your partners reasoning for wanting a hospital birth? If it is that he is scared about something going wrong, it might help him to talk to your midwife about the birthing process etc. That might help settle some of his fears. But whatever you decide your midwife should be able to give you good info.
Also not all midwives do homebirths so check if yours does.

Yes then that is what it will be he will just be worried which it cute and it wold make a difference if it's your first one. I know my partner would be the same.
The good thing about having bubs in hospital is that the midwives help u wif bubs cos i had no idea wat i was doing and u cud push the button at anypoint and they wud come.
It was never a consideration for me because I was to scared something would go wrong and especially for the first time you dont know if its going to be a normal problem free birth which mine wasnt so I would have been sent to hospital anyway. I liked the idea of a water birth (didnt get that option in the end either) but didnt like the idea of floaties in the water hehehe
