Topic: just a few questions...? Posted: 15 February 2006 at 12:55pm |
I have 2 questions actually:
1)I was wondering when you start to show, I know it's different with everyone, but if you laides will let me know when you started showing it might give me an idea of the range i might expect...the reason i ask is because i havnt told work yet and ofcourse i will tell them in due course but i am wondering how long i can leave it before they actually figure it out...
2)Did anyone else have bad headaches in their first few months, I am 8 weeks and gettign really bad headaches, can i take 2 panadol or is it better not to?
TIA

1) With my first child, I was 18-20 weeks before I even knew I was pregnant (long story!) but I guess I started to obviously show around 17 weeks or so... everyone is different, and second/whatever time around you pop out sooner.
2) Panadol is fine to take in pregnancy, but check the pack or talk to a pharmacist if you are really unsure.

Ditto what Becca said... I was about 17/18 weeks, even more before you could tell when I had clothes on

my tummy is already expanding but it's more flubber than anything else now...*sigh* Still I can't help but wonder if I will be falling into the "showing earlier rather than later" category.

People could tell I was pregnant around the 28-30 weeks, before that I just looked like I gained weight...heaps of it!!!
I never had any headaches but I know that panadol is ok to take. I always took 1 panadol and maximum of 4 a day....But to be sure ask your midwife/GP.

Mrs Frantic... do I know you?
1) With Maddisyn (my first child), I didn't show until I was 7 months, like the others, it just looked like i'd put on some weight no real visible bumb had formed yet.
With this pregnancy, I am 22 weeks and showing big time!
2) I too had really bad headaches, I was always paranoid about taking anything for them. I was told Panadol is fine at a limited intake, although I chose to have nothing and just drink lots of water and would go to bed and lay in the dark (close the curtains). That helped alot.

With Blair i was around 5 months when i started showing and with the twins it was about the same then after that i just grew and grew as you can imagine.
I took panadol with both pregnancies, but maybe check with your midwife if there is something else you can take for the headaches.
Hope they go away soon.

I started showing really early and more than anything it was just harder to suck in my stomach (I was pretty big anyway)
I had major headaches and Panadol is fine but definatly dont take neurofen.

I was always pretty little with Paris, but second time around i was showing a fair amount by 18 wks.
Panadol is ok to take, everything you take passes thru to baby in some amount - but some things are safer than others and panadol is safe - just follow directions, headaches could also be from dehydration so make sure you keep up that water... if you can't have decent gulps of it at a time, try a sipper bottle (it gets empty so quick), freezing watered down raro can be good too. - or iceblocks etc.

I started showing really early and ended up really huge, Xanda was a big baby. I use to get headaches because i didn't rest enough, i found that drinking lots of water, and laying down with a nice cold wet flannel on my head helped alot. But also check with your midwife.

People started guessing when I was 14-15 weeks, and I was looking proper pregnant at about 20 weeks.
I found AmazingPregnancy-Pictures.com really helpful when I was less pregnant - its great to be able to compare how different people look at different stages.
