Topic: Owwwww...!! Silly me... Posted: 30 January 2006 at 5:30pm |
Back from Opotiki and thoroughly sunburned, and feeling completely miserable of course ! The humidity doesn't help, and I can't wander around the house in my undies either... (which is what I'd be doing if there were nobody else living here). I've got some lotion with aloe that I will be slathering on, anybody else have any tips? Is there anything in particular I need to do as a sunburned preggy lady besides keep up my fluids and the moisturiser?
Yours in pain...
Jax !

I second the hot shower, can turn it down to cold later, but the hot will take the sting out. polyester tends not to scratch as much either comared to cotton (although doesn't breathe)

Well you see, it was a cloudy day (d'oh!) and I thought I'd only be in the pool for a little while... which turned into a slightly longer while, and even though it was still cloudy when I got out - I should have known better ! I was in the shade the whole time before that *sigh* Last night was absolute torture, it wasn't until we got back to our unit that I realised how bad it was. I don't feel as prickly today but I hate how my face looks, all blotchy and a lovely tomato color to boot Still going hard on the aloe very of course, would kill for a swim even now !

Must have been a weekend for it. I was at an outdoor concert yesterday afternoon - put cream everywhere except where my top was - Then took the straps off my shoulders (I hate strap marks lol), my top must have gone lower than I expected now the top of my boobies are burnt right where your bra sits OUCH! ahh well - I'm nice and brown elsewhere (and no strap marks lol). I just left a cold wet face cloth there all night to take the heat away.

LOL Toni - I did the same thing at the beach a couple of week ago. I now have two nice brown strips along the top of my boobs...

I applied sunscreen everywhere on saturday apart from the back of my neck and now it is a nice red colour and real sore, I found that a hot shower took the sting out of it.
