Topic: I think I like her now!! Posted: 28 April 2008 at 2:26pm |
Just wanted to share the love as I was not enjoying my baby much, until now. Greer is sooooo much better now, feeding and sleeping well. And only cries if she is hungry or tired. And only waking once at night - long may that continue. Yay for Neocate and Gaviscon!!
I said this to DH this morning and he agreed that she is much more likeable and enjoyable now she doesnt scream.
So trust your mummy instincts and don't give up.

Yay! It took me a wee while to fully like Jack too (although I loved him) mainly cos of feeding issues. As soon as he went on formula, man was he likeable!

Same story with me too... I took ages to bond with Chloe. Once I started giving her EBM and formula almost fulltime, and she was feeding better, things were just so much easier on us all. And now I love spending time with her (most of the time, anyway!)
That's so awesome that you are finally enjoying Greer, aimee!

Yay Aimee! Funnily enough I posted almost the exact same thread when the gremlins were a similar age, it's hard to love them when all they do is scream and spew!
ETA: Long may it continue!

I remember your post Emma. She is such a lovely content little baby now, just like Hanny was. Makes me sad though, to think about how awful the last few months must have been for her. But at least we got on top of it relatively early.

I felt the exact same way, and to a certain degree still feel guilty that I pushed the breastfeeding thing for 10 weeks when all it did was make them miserable.
Sorry, ignore my threadjack pity post

Yah Aimee . I too was once in that zone - I think it's nice to know that you are not alone, (if you are in it now). But glad you are out of it, and get to enjoy your little one!

Emma, at least this thime around you will have even more of an idea. And once I've built up a stash of formula, will send you some back.

Ahhh yes, the sacred formula stashes!
Glad things are on the up with little Greer, Aimee. It's not easy to like someone who moslty screams at you then vomits over you, eh. That's so tough on mums. Horray for a more contented bub now
