Only 22 days until my little man is a big boy! His Grandparents & Great Grandparents are asking what I'd like them to get Lucas! Gosh, I haven't even started shopping for him (due to lack of funds at present).

Sooo what did you mummies buy for your kids for their 1'st Bdays... ideas please?

Willie and I bought each of the girls a greenstone pendant, we wanted to give them something that they could keep forever.
As for toys etc. Little People were a hit and even Maya still plays with it now, ride on toys, an activity table...

Josh got some clothes and the Peek'a'Block dump truck and some more blocks.

What does he like to play with??

We got Andrew a Tonka Truck for his first birthday.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

We got Char some mega blocks, a wee ride on, clothes etc. She has a keepsake bangle I gave her when we got married, that I would have saved for her bday.

Mega blocks are great, and books, too.

I know ...I miss him being a baby so so much!

Yup Kels, very exciting! I've seen the Animal train you're meaning as well, was tossing up the decision whether to get it for Xmas or not. Will certainly bear that in mind!

Mega Blocks sound like the popular choice too, I'm guessing they'd cater for a couple years as well!

I can't wait to go shopping for him, half the time I think I'm shopping for myself . I LOVE TOYWORLD!

Keep the ideas flowing, taking notes as we speak!

Yea I was going to say the wooden wagon as well, they can use it as a walker and really enjoy those things. What about a "big boy cup"?

Alize loves the wooden wagon at daycare he is always pushing it around and putting things in and emptying it out. Def a good idea!
