My cervix doesnt dilate and they didnt cut me but my cervix is very stubborn. She was pushing up against my cervix to try and get it to open and it was bending the tube, it was closed so tightly. Thats when they gave up because if its like that and the are pushing hard and it suddenly gives thats when it can go thru and perforate

Kel, have you had a read of the book Bilings Ovulation Method? If you are pretty aware of your body...which I think you are....it seems pretty easy and sounds pretty reliable. And if you have an oopsie....well there is your decision made

We are thinking of using it and to be honest, I think we could as I am pretty aware of when things are changing or happening....but DH cant wait long enough for me to get it recorded and be happy I am sure so we just use condoms. ....that and the time I am most interested is the time I should be stay well away

I had a copper IUD inserted about 6 years ago now so not to fresh in my mind. However no cutting was involved it was a bit uncomfortable when they opened my cervix and did hurt a bit when they inserted it however I had not had a baby so apparently it is more painfull in that case as you are not pre-streched. I had AF like cramps afterwards and a bit of bleeding but after that it was fine. Lasted me for the 5 years no problems, I found AF no heavier or crampier than normal plus it was great as I knew my cycle and was all set to go once we started TTC.
I was a little nervous about getting it removed but my GP did it and it was really easy, just a tiny bit of spotting afterwards.

I KNOW!!!!

Might have a look at that book...would be cheaper in the short run, not so much if we have an oopsy...but Cooper took us a year & a half with BD bang on so you would figure that we'd not get an oopsy.

No cutting here either, she just used a thing to measure the size of my uterus and she checked which way my uterus tilts and then put the IUD in which I am pretty sure was in a tube as well. I did have spotting for a week afterwards but they said that was normal as the procedure disturbs the lining of the womb.
I didn't have AF cos I was breastfeeding so they just do it but normally I think they like you to have it done just after AF and taken out during AF so that it's easier/less painful to do.

Kel I know you had a problem with the IUD but maybe try it again as it shouldn't slip a second time, it doesn't interfere with breastfeeding and if you decide to have another baby it easier to take out and no hormonal side effects.

Kel I had the injection once and it isn't painful - just aquick jab. It caused absolute havoc to my moods though. I was like a crazed maniac with depression on it and I am an alround happy person normally. It defeated the purpose of getting it cos my boyfriend at the time and I even broke up haha. I know it doesn't affect everyone in this way but for me it sucked majorly. I am a bit the same on the pill so that's why I like my iud :)

Go on though - have another lol

I am so torn too. Between being so so so sure I will never ever having another baby, to maybe in another year, to NOW right NOW

Edited for my awful spelling

Well DH was no help....he doesn't want me to get an IUD again I guess I was more miserable than I realised???

When I started a sentence with "do you" & he said no I'm not even going....I was like hang on, not asking you to get the snip

Looks like we will be going down the same path as Nikki....so look out for me in the Oopsy thread
