OK, so i started to wean my 6 month old on to formula which has gone fine but I am having trouble with the boobs department! I know that the more you take off the more you produce so I have managed to get to 2 feeds a day, off me and 3 formula but I keep feeding him so that it is not as uncomfortable and full, I am after some ideas to try and beable to quicken this process up, or how long it will take? Or if I just have to grin and bear it for a few days till its over, and not give into tempation to feed him
Thanks

There are herbal remedies you can take to stop your milk, you can get them from the chemist but it shouldn't take too long for your body to realise that you don't need as much milk, I'd hang in there for a few days more.

Nipple stimulation is what triggers the production of breast milk so try to cut that down as much as poss =)

Sage tea (1/2teaspoon of sage) three times a day is good
Parsley helps
Other herbs that can decrease breast milk supply are Chickweed, Black Walnut, Yarrow, Sorrel, Lemon Balm and oregano.

Cold cabbage leaves help with the engorgement and pain.
