Hi All,

I have a whole heap of good/excellent condition mainly boys 0000 - 00 baby clothes.

Does anyone know anyone who could benefit from these? Its too time consuming for me to list them on trademe plus the postage is not worth while for one or two items. Our family is complete so would love to pass these onto someone else.

Perhaps you could contact Plunket or donate them to the local Hospice, IHC or Salvation Army shop. Or the womens refuge or something like that.

Last week it broke my heart when hubby took bubs for her Plunket check up. The Plunket Nurse said some families couldn't afford to buy socks ... so I for one am going to give some of my bubs clothing to Plunket.

Same here, plunket gets all DD's clothing. Hatte to think of wee ones going without especially during winter.

you might also try calling CYFS offices and see if they have any mums or mums to be in need. Otherwise Baptist Family services / IOSIS - have social workers working with families in need too.
Am sure some of the private maternity places like Papakura and Pukekohe or possibly even kids first might saw yes to any donations?

Its breaking my heart to see how some kids around sth auck are dressed at the moment...esp the ones with no shoes on!

I am giving alot of Jayes smaller clothes to a friend with a baby about 5 months younger. She is a single mum and as Jaye gows out of his stuff it is a perfect fit for her wee man. Some special things I am keeping in case we have a boy next time. The stuff that I don't give to my friend we donate to Plunket or the Salvation Army. It is a nice thought knowing a little bubba and family will benefit from them.

i have a friend who cant afford new clothes & her boy is 6-7yrs old now & she is having another boy. I am going to be lending her some of my baby clothes but i will be wanting most back. so if it's boys stuff you don't want back, i would be happy to pay you something for it? I can't afford much either tho. that's the only thing. But otherwise your local kindy? i know there are some schools around here & even in mt roskill that the families cant afford clothing etc

Hi Sylvo, donating them to those in need is a awesome gesture. Good on you
Have you thought about the option of maybe upgrading/swapping them with others?
You could look here if that interests you

Womens refuge would be a good one for a few items as they probally get a lot of mothers with babies who just had to up and leave in the middle of the night with just the clothes on their back.
