to stay in his big boy bed????

it never occured to Jake that he couold get out of his bed, so all this time, i put him in and there he stays until morning (or until he falls out).
tonight I put Taine in his big boy bed for the first time tonight and he got out! yes, you read that right, HE GOT OUT!!! This is completely foreign to me. i put him back in three times and now I can still hear him playing. jake keeps yelling "tired mama" (they share a room). i'm ignoring them.

Beat him with a big stick!

Just kidding, altho sometimes it's tempting

I just shut Maya's bedroom door so she had to stay in her room and eventually the novelty of getting out of bed wore off. I also had one of those safety rails up which made it that much trickier for her to get out.

I don't care if they get out of bed but if they get out of their room, I put them back and close the door - for the night. Then try again the next night lol. But.... I have so far given up on rooming my 3 1/2 and 2yos together because they work each other up and it just didn't work out.

I was the same as Teresa if Andrew got out if he stayed in his room it was fine. But Andrew was pretty good he stayed in bed and still does. Is he too young for a sticker chart?
I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

well, i went and checked on him and couldn't see him in his bed. He was curled up with Jake. soooo cute. pity no camera. i've moved him and put him back in his bed. I thought I would be a bit upset over putting him in a bed, but I feel kinda good that i have two independant little boys. Am, obviously not ready for number 3, much to the relief of Lewis!

update:

at around 1am i heard a thud, a yelp, pitter patter if little feet, and suddenly I had a bedmate.

I ended up having him in with me! I know I should have put him back but i guess Taine is such an independant little bhoy - he loves spending time wiuth me, but is really happy just pottering by himself. he seems not to "need" me during the day. i just love that he needs me at night....so thats probably why I'm softie with him. this morning he volunteered his first kiss! usually it's a forced issue. i'm going topretend theat i didn;t see him dothe same thing to the tv five minutes lkater,

Joey also gets out of bed MILLIONS of times before finally sleepiong. We just keep putting him back He shows up in our room in the middle of the night sometimes too, I'm always amazed he's not scared as it is pitch black (he has no night light - never had one) and we pull him into bed with us then too hehehehehe, is getting a bit squashy with my big bellythough.

Taine was back in bed with Jake last night. i heard a yelp and he had pushed Jake out. jake yelled "no taine" and taine pitter-pattered into my bed. i think he doesn't like sleeping alone...i've packed all his teddies! grrrr. they were expelled from the cot cause stacked them up trying to escape.

PM me your address, Liz, and I'll send you one of Kiya's ones... we're decluttering, and she's quite happy to get rid of 2 (yes two!!!) rubbish sacks full of soft toys! She never plays with them, so the teddy I've got in mind is practically brand new and very cuddly.
