I was thinking about getting a little something for the teachers/cook at daycare - a box of choccies for everyone that looks after Gina every day.
I haven't talked to anyone yet wehter that will be OK but just wonder what you guys think - is this OK or not? Is anyone else giving anything for Xmas to anyone at daycare?
we are making xmas decorations for the carers. my gf is a child care worker (at another place) and she said she gets HEAPS each year.
the decorations were her suggestion. got polysterene balls from spotlight. I painted them a base colour and the boys added some more paint and glitter. tie a ribbon around and voila!
Maya used to help me bake Xmas cookies for her daycare/preschool/ballet teachers.

we really really appreciate it:) I would say at my last preschool about 1/3 of the parents do it..and we totally appreciate it:) just had to be careful with wine etc as we weren't allowed it on the property but we got chocs mostly.. but decorations would have been cool:)
I have done it for Andrew's carers each year when we were in Palmy. This year I wasn't as organised and can't get anything in time for the xmas break .
I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!
Yey! I'm glad I'm not the only one and you guys think it's OK since I've already bought & wrapped all the chocs it would be crazy for me to eat them all
Another question - the Xmas kids party is on Thursday next week and I was thinking of taking the gifts in on Friday 19-dec even though Gina doesn't finish until 23-dec. Guess that will be OK as I don't want the teachers to be away - I know there will be less staff over Xmas as less kids
Our xmas party is on wednesday, but am taking them during the week - pretty much cause Taine is giving a present to his favourite carer - who ISN"T his actual carer if you know what I mean, she is a relief girl who has just been brilliant with him and he adores her. the actual woman who is in charge of him wasn't even aware he could speak until recently - he doesn't seem to be interested in her at all.
I think it's really thoughtful and certainly makes you feel appreciated - even if it is only a card with some nice words in it doesn't have to be a gift. Just remember - if you name all the teachers in the card make sure you don't leave anyone out! Really makes you feel stink when that happens (even though you know it wouldn't be on purpose!)
I have the choccies to give to Alize's DC along with choccies for each of the girls teachers. I think little Sarah said even just a card is a nice gesture. My girls love giving their teachers lil pressies lol
