DH and I have agreed that yes, we would like another baby but the financial position we are in just won't allow it at the moment, not if we want to get ahead and have enough money to survive (I am the major breadwinner in our house by over double - yay for IT but boo for babies). Therefore, its a no no for another baby for at least another 3 years.

My body is driving me nuts at the moment, I REALLY want to have another baby and its made even harder by almost all of my friends either pregnant or trying to get pregnant with their second babies.

How do you ignore the feeling of utter dismay that pings your insides everytime you see a pregnant woman, a baby or hear of someone else who is pregnant?!!!!

I really feel for those who struggle to get pregnant, I can only begin to imagine how that must feel.

How do I deal with it: Thing of the broken sleep, explosive nappies and that is enough to make me know I don't want another one just yet.

Another way of my thinking is I only want 1 in nappies at a time so I have to wait.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

I do try and keep myself on track by thinking of two things that I hated:

Cluster Feeding at night
Broken/lack of sleep

But man, its just soooo hard. Its made even harder watching my baby in the bath on her own, I keep feeling like she should have someone else to play with in the bath like I did (my younger brother)!

My situation is a little different, I would love another baby but for the longest time i didnt have a partner, and i wanted my next childs dad to be someone i was in a stable relationship with not just someone who i went out with for 2 months (like C's dad) so i was jealous of people that were married that could just have another baby if they wanted (i know now that thats NOT how it works)
Now i have a partner but i imagine it will still be a couple of years before we have anymore, (for financial reasons as well) so I guess in the meantime i'll just be grateful i at least have caitlyn and if i ever get those pings (which i do occasionally) i'll put a sack of potatoes under my top and turn the radio to full volume on a station i cant stand

Aww, hon, i feel your pain!
I see so many pregnant woman and feel the pings of jealousy. I see babies and want to cry cos I long to hold my own baby..

This started for me November 2006. And its been like that the while time. I find talking to DH about it helpful. And taking me time, away from people, any people, also helps.
Other than that its hard and I give big hugs!!!

Go out drinking with your friends and then force yourself to remember that you'd have NO social life for a VERY long time!

Meh - I have a nearly 2 year old and work fulltime. And I would fit this drinking in when?!

I know, I just have to wait. Sigh.

lol I'm so the same at the moment too - and I'm waiting for my first!!! I TOTALLY want to be a mum, I believe it's what I was made for (without sounding too gushy), but we simply aren't able to right now (financial as well, mostly, and a DH who isn't QUITE as ready as I am!). Plus, I'm relatively young (23) so I know we have a little time up our sleeves.

Still, it was so hard seeing my niece the other night, I just wanted to bring her home and keep her, or run home and make her a cousin to play with!

oh my I feel guilty cause what you are feeling is what my dh is feeling - well prehaps without the hormones but he wants another and I am very undecided - I see more cons than pros - thing is we could afford another (that would be #4)..

But yeah umm lets see what cons I came up with to help you de 'ping'

baby blues
body getting 'flabby' again
Boobs being gianormous and leaking as soon as any baby crys or you think of you baby
night feeds
baby crying just cause it wanted to
More expense on the Creditcard (or out of account) due to just have to buy that dress/clothes for baby
You know how hard it is to leave the house with one baby - double it with 2..

I am sure there is alot more to put you off but my older two are bugging me to take them to their grand parents so better get off here...

so theres another - Less OHBABY! time

by the way these aren't my cons for not wanting another just ones I thought might stop the pinging for you

Ann

LOL at only one in nappies Becks, I am going to have THREE in nappies

I had a lot of the 'pinging' when we were TTC the gremlins, not so much coz I wanted another baby and couldn't TTC, more coz we were TTC and nothing was happening, but it's still the same pings.

I hated that I felt jealous when friends got pregnant, babies didn't make me feel that way, just pregnant ladies.

Anyway, no advice here, just commiseries, oh and to say appreciate only having one child while you can coz if you let the pinging get the best of you you'll end up like me, overrun with bloody kids!
